The author Johann Just Winckelmann [1620-1699] whose surname is also recorded as Winkelmann was a German historian. The British Library suggests this book was printed in Bremen where Winkelman went to live. Sir Charles George Young [1795-1869] became Garter King of Arms. Colonel Henry John Beresford Clements [1869-1940] of Lough Rhynn, County Leitrim, became the acknowledged expert on heraldic bindings.
